How is this different from classic monkey testing?

Classic monkey testing fires random clicks and keystrokes at an app. MonkeyTest keeps the name and drops the randomness: an LLM reads your actual pages and deliberately tries the journeys a real user would, so the bugs it finds are ones your customers would hit.

Do I need to write test scripts?

No. There are no fixtures, selectors, page objects or recorders. Point it at a URL and it works out the flows by looking at the rendered pages.
